Dependent on your deafness you may wish to find out about support at the workplace. The NDCS has produced a handbook to help employers make sure their recruitment process and workplace are as fair and accessible to deaf people as possible.
Sometimes a young person requires communication support or assistive technology to do their job and as part of the reasonable adjustments policy employers should be able to provide this support. However, despite legally having to make the adjustments not all employers are able to provide this support. In this case support can be funded by the government with the Access to Work grant.
