The weekly broadcast from the Jersey Methodist Circuit this Remembrance Sunday is rather special in that it is entirely signed in BSL.

The service will be available to all from 10.30am on the Jersey Methodist Circuit website.

The Pandemic has effected everyone all over the world and one community for whom the consequences of wearing face masks has been alienating is the deaf community. Losing the ability to lip read and voices muffled by masks has been really challenging, alongside information about lockdown and changes often taking days to filter down due to no one signing the news has been difficult, painful and frightening.

Many Christians from the deaf community come to Jersey every Remembrance to take part in a service, which is signed by Pat Bougard who is a lay reader in the Church of England to the deaf community.

This year, the Methodist Circuit in Jersey have worked with Pat in an ecumenical service marking Remembrance, signing the entire service in BSL. We warmly invite all those in the deaf community to join our act of worship as we remember the fallen on Remembrance Sunday with Pat Bougard, Revd Jenny Pathmarajah and Revd Dawn Saunders.
